an industrial building that fits like a glove

One of the most difficult tasks for an architect is to design his own house. An architect is extra sensitive to his living and working environment. Most of all, the location and the building must not be standard. We often look for locations that are on the edges and junctions of the city – a place with potential for the future. The building can then act as a catalyst that allows you to discover the area further. We found our place in an old, cluttered industrial zone in Roermond. It was a dilapidated office cum washing shed from the nineteen-fifties. With an extension suited to the industrial atmosphere, we created a building that fits like a glove – open, architectonic, creative spaces where we can work together in all sorts of ways. We’re proud of it.
