a care and nursing home is connected to the neighbourhood

A new building would have to be developed for a large-scale care and nursing home. Over the years, a lot had been added and renovated, resulting in an amorphous complex. The existing chapel remained an important element in integrating the building with the neighbourhood. That would have to be retained.

In the new building, the functions of café, crèche and Internet café were added to connect the house even further with the surrounding neighbourhood. Demolition and replacement building criss-crossed each other in a complex project. Nobody needed to move house.

The new buildings ‘swing’ around the existing buildings. The space created by the demolished buildings was transformed into a beautiful park.
