Everyone recognises the success of La Place for the Vroom & Dreesmann department store chains. The company is now looking into the possibilities of introducing this formula at major junctions on the motorway network. 

For the intersection of the A1 and A6 at Muiden, we have developed a prototype for the La Place motorway restaurant in the form of a bagel. This shape will be “sliced through the middle” so that “filling” can be inserted. A lot of natural materials will have to portray the fresh nature of La Place’s products and support the health angle. This oasis of rest must contrast with the functional, artificial infrastructure. 

We continue to hope that La Place will be successful in finding a good, feasible location for launching this design as a new brand icon.
